Consumer Coalition Letter Supporting the TRACED Act

CFA TC

In a letter to the members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, CFA along with other consumer groups joined together to support the Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act (TRACED Act). The TRACED Act would take important steps to help stop unwanted telephone calls, which are a top consumer complaint. It would direct the FCC to implement technology which would verifying the accuracy of caller ID information. This would help address the problem of “spoofing,” in which robocallers, many of which are scammers, input misleading information in the caller ID to trick consumers into picking up the phone.
