Comments to California Energy Commission Regarding Proposed Computer Efficiency Standards

CFA TC

Consumer Federation of America (CFA), Consumers Union , Consumer Action and Consumer Federation of California applaud the California Energy Commission (CEC) for proposing minimum energy efficiency standards for computers and displays. We believe that the need for such standards is clear and the benefits to consumers, the economy and the environment will be substantial. We base this conclusion on a report prepared last year by CFA entitled “Electricity Consumption and Energy Savings Potential of Consumer Digital Devices: The Role of California Appliance Standards Leadership."
