CFA Joins Others Urging DOE to Withdrawal January 2021 Final Interpretive Rule for Gas Boilers

CFA TC

In January 2021, DOE finalized an interpretive rule which determined that standards that would limit the market to gas products that use condensing technology would result in the unavailability of a “performance-related feature."  This rule would harm consumers by ensuring that inefficient gas products, including residential boilers, continue to be sold. The rule is being reviewed by DOE in accordance with Executive Order 13990, and we urge DOE to withdraw it as soon as possible.
