Advocates Support DOE's Proposal to Replace Energy Consumption Metric for Battery Chargers with Separate Metrics for Active Mode, Standby Mode, and Off Mode

CFA joined fellow advocates in responding to DOE’s release of the preliminary technical support document for energy conservation standards for battery chargers. We continued to support replacing the overall unit energy consumption metric with separate metrics for active mode, standby mode, and off mode as proposed in the November 2021 test procedures notice of proposed rulemaking. We also urged DOE to evaluate potential standards for wireless chargers.
