Parent Advocates, Consumer Groups, and Industry Submit Comments to Health Canada Regarding Furniture Tip-Over Rulemaking

CFA TC

Consumer Federation of America, along with Parents Against Tip-Overs, American Home Furnishing Alliance, Consumer Reports, and National Consumers League provide comments to Health Cananda regarding safety specifications for clothing storage units to address furniture tip-over injuries and deaths. The groups urged Health Canada to revise its free-standing clothing storage unit requirements to reflect the latest version used in the U.S., ASTM F2057-23. The U.S. previously adopted the performance requirements of ASTM F2057-23 as the mandatory safety and stability standard for clothing storage units after decades of tireless work from parent and safety advocates.
