Groups Urge FTC to Study How Commercial Data Uses May Reinforce Bias and Discrimination

Twenty-seven civil rights, digital rights, racial justice organizations, and consumer groups, including Consumer Federation of America, sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission urging the agency to study data and discrimination issues in all 6 (b) investigations it undertakes to understand how commercial uses of data may reinforce bias and discrimination against historically disadvantaged communities.
