Groups Ask FTC to Investigate Amazon’s Tactics to Keep Prime Members from Cancelling

Consumer Federation of America joined other groups in urging the Federal Trade Commission to investigate how Amazon uses “dark patterns” to try to stop Prime members from cancelling the service. This action was prompted by a study the Norwegian Consumer Council conducted showing how the company manipulates consumers who signed up for free trials of Prime into continuing the service when they attempt to cancel.
