Consumer and Community Groups Urge DC Council to Protect Consumers from Deceptive Automatic Renewal Clauses
In a letter to DC City Councilmember Charles Allen, consumer and community advocacy groups voiced support for legislation that would ensure that District residents are clearly informed when contracts contain auto-renewal provisions and that would prohibit renewals for 12 months or longer without the consumers’ affirmative consent.
