CFA Supports Oregon's Proposed Ban on Using Non-Driving Factors to Determine Insurance Premiums
The Consumer Federation of America submitted comments in support of Oregon's Legislative Concept 561 and suggested some possible improvements. This proposal would promote safe driving and fair auto insurance premiums by ensuring that drivers’ rates are primarily based on factors related to their driving. It also would ban the use of factors such as credit score, sex or gender, marital status, education, occupation, and other factors in the pricing of auto insurance.
