CFA Supports Legislative Amendment Requiring Enhanced Private Issuer Disclosures
In a letter to Congressman Brad Sherman, CFA expressed strong support for an amendment to the America COMPETES Act of 2022 (H.R. 4521). This amendment would require certain privately held issuers to disclose basic information to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The amendment is intended to promote transparency in the “private placement” market in order to enhance investor protection.
