CFA Opposes Midnight Rules Relief Act of 2016
CFA has joined a large coalition of consumer, small business, labor, good government, financial protection, community, health, environmental, civil rights and public interest groups to urge members of Congress to oppose H.R. 5982, the Midnight Rules Relief Act of 2016. H.R. 5982 would amend the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to allow en bloc disapproval of all regulations finalized near the end of presidential terms. This bill would jeopardize public protections affecting public health, safety, and the environment that often are years, if not decades, in the making.
