Consumer Federation of America has been invited to submit suggestions regarding issues to be addressed in the upcoming reauthorization of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. We hope that the end result of that process will be a bipartisan bill that puts the agency on a sound financial footing, strengthens its authority in key areas, and shores up the crucially important derivatives market reforms adopted in the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
