CFA Joins Local and National Advocacy Groups Calling for FHLBank Mission Reform

CFA TC

The Coalition for Federal Home Loan Bank Reform submitted this letter in response to the Federal Housing Finance Agency's Request for Information on the FHLBank mission and the metrics for mission achievement. The FHLBank System is currently overly focused on member profits and with reform, the System can make a significant difference in meeting the nation's critical fair and affordable housing and community development challenges. A mission-focused FHLBank System would fully leverage all its activities, lending, and investments towards a revised housing mission and rely on membership-incentive programs to compel and help support their members to do more for fair and affordable housing and community development. CFA and the members of the Coalition were joined by over 50 other national and local housing and consumer advocacy organizations.
