CFA and Other Groups Urge the FTC to Block Google/Fitbit Merger

In a letter to the Federal Trade Commission, consumer and privacy groups urged the agency to block Google’s proposed acquisition of Fitbit, citing concerns about Google’s monopoly power over Internet-based services, the highly sensitive nature of the personal information Fitbit collects about users, and the dramatic erosion of consumer privacy that could result from the merger.
